British signalling of the past (UK, excepting Northern Ireland)
Hi Whilst on Holiday in Norfolk this week I took a train ride up to Sheringham . Whilst my train was waiting to pass the up one at North Walsham looking out the window I noticed the up starter TB 24 had a shunt ahead position light signal below the main head when I came back I saw a shunt signal on its own facing in the down direction just before the loop points ( it might have been TB 69 ?) what are they used for? I thought goods trains could run around in the goods yard are there more shunt signals at the Cromer end of the station that I did not see ?.
