The above link takes you to part of the Westward Ho! history page. What is known about this box and was it ever re-erected as stated?

For what it is worth, Wikipedia implies that this box was not from the Bideford Appledore and Westwood Ho!.

This box has been known about for a long time - its origins have never been identified and probably never will. It has been claimed in the past that it did indeed come from the BA&WH without substantiation - but it must be said that as the box appears to be of an early Saxby & Farmer design this is a distinct possibility.

Apparently only the top portion of the box now survives. I giess the lower part was not original anyway.

If anybody has access to R&CHS Journals, it is discussed in the November 1996 edition.
