Hi.

Not sure, but they wont go before the GN/GE boxes so you have over a year at least. If youve already got Foley Crossing SB and Caverswall SB, the others are easy enough to get to. Egginton Jn SB is down a private road tho so seek permission before you go tresspassing. Maybe you could ask the crossing keeper just up the road to phone the box and ask permission.

Caverswall SB
Egginton Junction SB
Foley Crossing SB
Hilton GC
Scropton SB
Sudbury SB
Tutbury Crossing SB
Uttoxeter SB

All due to go in 2016 but I'm hearing rumour, NO MORE THAN THAT, that 2017 is more likely.

Alrewas also due to go in 2016 and the Melton Line and Coalville branch in 2017 and that'll be all the East Midlands mechanical boxes wiped out.

Hi.

A quick footnote for everyone taking pix at Scropton Crossing SB...

If you speak to the signaller nicely, chances are they will give you a sheet of info on the box and history of the North Staffs line. Scropton Crossing SB is a really nice box. Anyone who has seen it at close quarters will know what I mean.

Network rail website has press releases regarding public meetings about changes to the crossings, quoting 2016. Foley and Pinfold however are subject to separate consultation later, so I'm guessing they might be going to be abolished.

Derby to Stoke Line Modular Signalling cited for commissioning in December 2016 as the fifth and final sub-area phase of the future 'Derby, Burton & Matlock' TMS workstation at East Midlands ROC (Derby).

You are right Mike, both Foley and Pinfold (Uttoxeter) are to be replaced by bridges.

Does anyone know if this line is still due to be resignalled this year, or has the date slipped, like quite a few others?

If they do close that'll please the signalmen displaced from the East Nottingham resignalling in Oct/Nov 2016.

Are on the ground preparation works for this resignalling underway? I'm interested as to how likely resignalling is to complete this year.

The hold up is due to clearances in Mere Tunnel, when resolved it will all fall into place.
Don't know any more at present.
