Llandarcy GF abolished

Evening All,

Just a quick note to say over the last few weekends the GF at the above site has been bypassed in the cable run by a half sized location cupboard and is no longer in use. This last weekend was the last of a few weekends of plain lining the junctions into the long closed refinery sidings and loop line at both ends of the site on the Swansea district lines past the box. The signals have been given LED dorman heads and all subsiduary signals on them and other signals needed for the previous layout recovered.
Some links to photos not mine some of how it used to be....Interesting how close the loop exit signal is to the signals in the rear of it in the last link.
Cheers
Richie

Renewing Your Railway, but trying hard to keep old traditions going......Trying to still do today what we did in the past in terms of appearance and heritage keeping.......
