The Council is not confirming any details regarding the build specifications (even how many platforms!) of the new station, so I wondered if anyone knew what signalling alterations will be carried out in connection with the new station. For example will a passing loop be installed or will will the double track section be extended to the station area, and will the station only open once Leamington Spa box closes? Finally, are there any dates set for the opening of the station? The Council is being less than helpful regarding an opening date !

Lets just say it isn't likely to be as originally envisaged, I can't say much more than that at the mo.

The site appeared to have been cleared and then abandoned last time I passed, not even a board to say it was the site of the new station.

Can you give a hint as to how many platforms it's likely to have?

As far as I can make out the Council has not even signed a contract for its construction yet.

It all looked rather promising around 18 months ago when NR ran a timing special with a 153 along the route. Now it's all very quiet. It's all a bit like Worcester Parkway and the Council getting involved there!

Just found this from last July and there was huge doubt about the station then (but it does say it will open in 2016!) so has anything changed apart from that it now looks like an opening date of August 2017 is likely?
The graphic makes the station look rather nice, but , from what the Planner implies, it would appear that this was only ever an aspiration of how the station could look.

The outline of a platform on the Down side of the single line before you get to the Leamington end of the crossing loop has appeared on the current version (22/01/16) of CCF. Make of that what you will.

Not knowing the area that well , is that where the current plan is for the station's location, where the business yard has been cleared in preparation but not a lot else has happened?

I always thought it was going to be two platforms, but that's cost cutting for you!

There's been talk of re-doubling the line between Kenilworth loop and Milverton, but it's gone quiet lately. If this happens then obviously there will have to be two platforms. There will have to be some alterations at Leamington as well, because currently there is no signalled route out of the Up Bay towards Coventry.

Looks as if it's now to be completed in March next year, but there's no rolling stock until August 2017!

Graphic still shows a station with two platforms.

Is it just down to money that an alternative is being put forward?

This states that track relaying will happen in spring 2017. That does imply that it will be doubled , and thus a station with two platforms, unless the reporter means that the existing track will be replaced.

Thought i had already posted this, but the Enhancement Delivery Plan mentions slewing the existing line and a new crossover at Kenilworth, but doesn't seem to refer to doubling as such.
