Paddington reduction in platforms

Unread postby scarpa » Mon Feb 6, 2017 7:38 pm

Recently Paddington has lost a platform from its total of14 excluding Tfl platforms. This has been achieved by merging platforms 12 and 13 together and abolishing the point connection to platform 12 from platform 11.This has made a longer platform presumably paid for by TFL who are currently spending money on the GWR as if there is no tomorrow! Making lots of work and upgrading the railway. What I did not find out are the platforms numbered consecutively now or have they abolished a platform number?

I have to say, I'm not entirely sure how platform numbering or TFL funding allocation are signalling related...
