Interesting photo on http://www.nwrail.org.uk/nwnews.htm today of the tidied up station, with a shunt signal on a short post and a disc planted adjacent to the barrow crossing.

From google earth the Poulton and Wyre Railway Society (http://www.pwrs.org) seem to have done a considerable amount of work on the line.

They have certainly tidied up the station areas at Thornton and Burn Naze, and cleared the vegetation from the adjacent stretch of line. However, if you turn round from where that picture was taken the level crossing is solidly fenced off, and only the foundations of the signal box remain. There's an awful lot that would be needed to turn it back into a working railway.

I'm not sure that there is much else of signalling interest to discuss, though.
