The Trackwatch in the March Modern Railways reports that Manchester Piccadilly panel box has ceded control of these lines (now formally called the Up and Down CLC lines) between milepost 189 and the fringe with Glazebrook (East Junction) near Chassen Road to Manchester ROC (the big new box which I like to call Ashburys Middle!). I have noticed that the signals concerned are plated MC, with some alterations (472 has become 474) at least one removal (462) and commissioning of new signals for reversible working through (Knott Mill and) Deansgate station (463 down the up, 456 up the down). The MC plating seems to cover from Trafford Park East Junction to a point between Deansgate and Oxford Road, 455 being its first signal on the down.
But the signals at Oxford Road itself remain plated MP; as do those controlling both ends of United Football Ground Halt, all of Trafford Park West Junction and thence westwards to the fringe with Glazebrook. Does Piccadilly Panel retain control of this bit of railway?
