Warminster Station

Unread postby scarpa » Sat Mar 25, 2017 3:05 pm

Working trackside a decade ago at Warminster Station I was informed due to the curvature of the track through the station only one train can travel through the station either up or down line before another train can travel through on the opposite line. Can any one confirm this please ?

No, I've never heard of that before and I spent about 20 years in train planning covering Warminster.
I think there may have been an "OPPOS" restriction for certain out of gauge loads passing other out of gauge loads and passenger trains between the platforms.

It seems unlikely that clearance would be a problem at Warminster. Wasn't it broad gauge when built? So there should be plenty of space between the lines.
