Previously 70 mph towards both Hull and York has now been increased to 80 towards York. Did drivers get any advance indication before, and is it now flashing yellows for Hull?

"Did drivers get any advance indication before?" Not as far as I know. From what I can remember, it was "free aspects" on both routes, with a position 1 feather for York and a position 4 feather for Hull.
"Is it now flashing yellows for Hull?" If so, it's in the lineside circuitry only. There have been no changes to the control system (IECC) or its interface to the relay room (RII).

Is it still permitted in the signalling standards, that 'free aspects' for both routes at a divergence provided that any difference in the permissible speeds is no more than 10mph ?
