This week I have noticed some new objects between the tracks of the Thameslink platforms at St Pancras and Farringdon. It's hard to tell what they are as they are still covered with black bags. But they may be signalling related, hence asking on this Forum.
At St Pancras, these are about three coach lengths north from the south end of the platforms. There are three objects, a few yards apart. The outer two appear to have a flat face, perpendicular to the tracks (so probably a sign for drivers), and are about 2 feet tall, bolted to a square concrete plinth. The centre object is about the size of a ground signal - but there are no points nearby so that seems unlikely.
At Farringdon there is just one object, at the extreme south end of the platform - so less easy to see without attracting suspicion.
At both locations, there is wooden shielding along the third rail for a few yards - presumably to give some protection to maintenance staff.
Any ideas?
