Signal manufacturer query

Unread postby Chris Osment » Mon Mar 5, 2018 1:18 pm

An old BR(S) LQ signal arm metal 'blade', almost certainly of pre-1948 vintage - carried the inscription 'S.R. B.304 C.A.&H.N LD' in one edge.

S.R. is probably Southern Railway, B.304 a part number perhaps? but does anyone know which manufacturer was C.A & H.N (Ltd?) please ?

I cannot remember the name of the firm (if I ever knew it) but they stove-enamelled signal arms and miscellaneous signs etc for the SR and LMSR (at least) through into BR days.
