Can someone please clarify how many locations will need to be staffed for any eventual regular service to Wareham.

The only location that I know that must be staffed will be Corfe Castle signal box.

Planning permission has been granted for a new road-rail siding at Norden which will allow changes at Norden to be undertaken as part of Project Wareham.

Details including plans can be seen here.

Please remember this is a forum for the discussion of signalling matters. Referring to newspaper reports about the signing of leases seems to be stretching things a bit!

On signing of the lease Motala ground frame was disconnected, (C & P for through running pending recovery of equipment), and both the Norden - Motala (SR) train staff and Motala -Worgret (NR) train staff were withdrawn.
Special operation is in force pending full introduction of the NSKT system.

P.S. Does any other heritage railway have a fully signalled link to NR?

Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Token section between Norden (Gates) and Worgret (Junction) signed into use at 1408 today, 5th February 2015 after all the issues have been sorted out. This means that trains can now be fully signalled onto the Swanage Branch under full signalling.
Well done to the Project Wareham Team, particularly Dr Mike Walsahaw the Project Manager and the CIP Richard Spencer.
The first train to be fully signalled onto the branch was (as it happens) also today, was the 1Z15, 1547 Poole to Corfe Castle special train carrying members of the Purbeck Community Rail Partnership; the Swanage Railway; Network Rail; the Minister of Transport and the MP for Devizes, Claire Perry; and special invited guests key to the delivery of the scheme.

Well done indeed.

Is Corfe Castle - Norden Gates a separate token section, or worked by other means?

Are trains permitted to leave the platform at Norden before the signal protecting the crossing is cleared?
;
Can trains run to Norden with the box unmanned?
