not all you can eat but (quite) all Semaphore Signals possible for one Position :)

From Top:
Zs 1 Subsidiary Signal (Ersatzsignal)

Home Starter Signal E 2 (Hp 0 , Hp 1 , Hp 2 )

left Lf 2 TSR commencement board

right one distant Signal next Block Home Signal

right two Lf 6 mainline PSR warning board

and on the bottom line

Semaphore Shunting Signal 2l with at the Bottom the Raute ("Diamond")

and right the Supplemetal Signal Ne 2 for a distant signal which is at reduced distance to main signal

I believe that Frank is referring to the black and white picture under the heading 'Signal E2 in Hanau (mb)'

G'day Frank,
Would this be gleis 106 at Hanau ?
I realize that the speed restriction commencing at the anfangscheibe is depicted on the Lf6 located to the rear.
Plus, that the EBULA would also depict the speed restriction (geschwindigkeit).
But, this is one facet of DB signalling that I am not as confident with.
Here, both the Warning board (aka Lf6) and Caution board (aka Lf2) for a speed restriction display the specific speed.
That helps to remind drivers when approaching a temporary speed restriction.
A good photo depicting the variety of DB formsignale still in use.

yes that is at Hanau.

And it is a very Special Type...that is why a wrote To Confuse the Engine man..

Because in this Case you have as a Driver follow two major Rules of the Rulesbook.
1.Home Signal (Hauptsignal) with two speed Aspects
and
2.Distant Signal (Vorsignal)
and then obey the Speed restrictions .

EBULA is the Duty Timetable for the Driver but the Signals at the Line are important.

EBULA is the electronic Form of the former Printed Timetables and looks so:

Via GSM-R this Computer is updated permantly except temporary Speed restrictions,they come "online" in the Year 2017.

G'day Frank,
Thanks for the link to the Gersys ebula.
I have downloaded the info and will study it at home.
I had thought that already the temporary speed restrictions were included on the DB ebula display.
But, not until 2017.
The temporary speed restrictions here are provided in paper printout to train crew for the specific route of travel.
Here we have the Metrolink train radio system which can receive text messages, I would presume similar to the DB GSM-R system.
But, our system is utilized mostly for train to control communication and alteration to running schedules.
I have not worked under the current format, only the original trial format prior to full introduction in 1995.

that

was planned with the EBULA .....the last 2 Letters LA stands for that ( (LAngsamfahrstellen (temporary speed restrictions) ).

But there where some Problems....first the "modern" GSM-R doesn`t work overall well.And second there where differences between the Software of the
Running Stock (DB Regio/Fern = Train operating) and the Network ( DB Netz = Track Maintance).

So this The temporary speed restrictions here are provided in paper printout to train crew for the specific route of travel is still in use until
(Hopefully) 2017.
