Signalman killed at Budleigh Salterton

Unread postby Peter Jordan » Thu May 9, 2013 12:44 pm

A friend has just sent me a copy of a little booklet entitled 'The Budleigh Salterton Railway' published by the Fairlynch Museum in Budleigh Salterton. On page 19 it says:

'..............but a signalman was crushed to death when the safety token he was carrying caught in the handle of a door as a train moved out of Salterton station.'

Thre are no further details, and no indication as to when this accident occurred. Does anyone know any more about it, please?
